Re: Cheni fight pics
I am now resurrecting this old thread. My P.myersi (similar to cheni) spawned in the sand like that and I want to know if you eventually got any fry. Could the fry get out of the fine sand?

Re: First Hillstream tank (loaches and Gobies)
I tried to replicate a real hillstream, in which there are no plants. Even if I put in plants, the only plants I would put in are needle leaf java fern and petite anubias. At the moment I have a needle leaf java fern in the tank, which looks good. I will get some anubias for it one day. The anubias ...

No problem, I understand. I'ts a pity that not many people know about these fish.

Re: Catching sewellia lineolata fry/juveniles
I'm shocked to read that you want to prevent the sewellias from reproducing. I'd be oh too happy to get sewellias to spawn, IF I can get hold of sewellias in this country!

Re: My aquarium
Think you should get some more and bigger rocks around the tank if you want the loaches to come out.

Re: First Hillstream tank (loaches and Gobies)
Just a little rescape. I am currently treating the anubias for the BBA. It's already dead. Just need to get it off now. http://imagehost.losias.net/images/3fEV35.jpg http://imagehost.losias.net/images/15.jpg http://imagehost.losias.net/images/1moz6.jpg http://imagehost.losias.net/images/2ZEy2l.jpg

Re: Stiphodon genus of the Goby
Hi Odyssey. I have a few Sithopdons which were sold to me as S. atropurpureus. I've recently been told that they are not atropurpureus. Could you tell me which species they are? These are all photos from my tank and most probably the same male. http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/541542_48...

Re: First Hillstream tank (loaches and Gobies)
Thanks Jim.
The crab isn't bothering the fish yet. When it gets a bit bigger I'll have to get rid of it. It's still small.

Re: Planting an established tank question
I guess your substrate is inert then? You can grow quite some plants in inert gravel. Easiest would be Java fern, anubias, Vallis, some roatals, Amazon sword. If you have a fast flowing system then Java fern and anubias will work good, because the must be attached to wood or rocks, and can handle fl...

I second Zipper Loach. I recently got 3 of them, also small like yours, and they look the same. Amazing buggers.
