Topic: Brown Algae for my hillstream loaches?

Hi Jaynie, It has been my observation that my P. Cheni don't go for the brown algae in my tank and i end up having to remove it manually at each water change. That said it mostly accumulates on the upper surface of the wood i have in there which is not the favoured grazing territory unlike the stone...

Clown loaches at the london aqurium

We had some time off back in November and spent a very nice long day at the London aquarium. The no flash rules make getting good pictures hard but i did manage to snap a few of the clown loaches they had. http://lh6.google.com/dienyddio/R8imYUkM59I/AAAAAAAABcU/9rX-3X_CECc/s800/DSC_0203.JPG I would ...

Thanks for all the replies. Wui are a favourite of mine although we don't see anywhere near enough of them. It is very unusual to have one pause out in the open for any length of time. Certainly these are the best pictures i have managed to get (-: I'm glad you enjoyed these pictures, i am trying to...

Small brown fish

Well seeing as i have been nagged for some more pictures i thought i would share these. Many people when first seeing Pseudogastromyzon cheni will ask why anyone would want to keep such a drab brown little fish. And to be honest sometimes that is all they seem to be. Allow me to introduce one of our...

Sinogastromyzon wui pictures

Every couple of weeks i do a slightly more intensive clean of the tank which involves shifting the stones to vacuum up any debris under them. One of our Wui is very fond of this stone and took great objection to having its home moved, so much so that for such a shy species it decided to mount a sit ...

Fantastic pictures there Whitey, do your cheni usually go for blood worms? Ours show very little interest in frozen foods and seem far happier with sinking wafers.

Considering the camera shy nature of Wui i'd say those pictures are excellent (-: Lovely looking fish too.

Thanks for sharing them Graeme!

Excellent news!

I second a request for pictures!

Our Wui do seem to have grown a bit since we got them, but very slowly. There are no where near 3.5" in length. Your fish will be something to behold there Graeme (-:

Have you posted any pictures of your existing Wui?

Hello again

Hi all, Seeing as i posted a question to the freshwater section i thought i should post an update on our main tank. Looking back i was very surprised to see it has been half a year since i last posted and a very mixed half year it has been. We have lost a fair number of fish, it all seemed to start ...

From the underside

A few nights ago after lights out one of the Annamia normani decided to try and sit on the glass at the front of the tank, it was quite active but i managed to get a few shots of its underside. http://lh5.google.co.uk/image/dienyddio/Rn6SPhW8GRI/AAAAAAAAA8Q/ff_sXgF16S4/s800/DSC_0025.JPG It's only wh...

Good luck with the spawning Whitey :-) It's great to see you have been treated to a spawning right by the glass which is always fun to watch. As Martin has said it seems to be about two weeks from spawning to seeing fry. Cheni fry will hide in the substrate for the first few weeks of their life emer...

Thanks for all the comments :-) This is the second time i have seen these Annamia acting like this, both times have been in the same spot and in the evening. I would estimate that the action lasted about 6-7 minutes. I have also seen other tussles going on that have not been prolonged, 10-30 second ...
