What is your feeding routine like? I ask because I often am in the same situation. Here's what I'll do when I'm counting short... Skip a day (or two) of feeding, then at the next feeding go for the count. It's chaos and can be difficult to count a group of frenzying fish but I find the fasting to us...

Thanks for your compliments! Regarding the filter: If i put the intake in the opposite corner of the output tube, the output tube will just blow the water straight into the filter again, without it circulating as much as now. As it is now, the output blows water to the opposite end, and it returns ...

Great tank, impressive! 8) You'll find kubotai to be excellent fish, I love'm. My only suggestion at this point would be to place the intake and return of your cannister filter at opposite ends of the tank. I see your tubing is short and the filter is perhaps too tall to be placed in the middle unde...

Discuss your shipping method. What shipper? What kind of packaging? You could try to cut costs there. I've noticed the ebay auctions, they turned out well. 8)
I work in shipping and my university studies are in distribution and logistics, I should be able to help you in that area 8)

Have you watched your shark's behavior lately? I recently noticed my Rainbow Shark acting very pushy lately.

Edit: My apologies, I missed where you said your shark is nipped too; I doubt he'd be nipping himself! :P

Two LFS in my town. Petsmart and a small LFS (mostly marine). Small LFS just went out of business last week, and Petsmart stopped stocking kubotai last week. I....
