Love the bottle of Prime at the ready, with the usual kitchen sink stuff.
Tank looks great! Keep us updated!

Well, I don't want to discourage you, NC. If you keep your clowns in their current surroundings, making sure to provide hiding space and proper nutrition while you plan a river tank in the reasonably near future, I'd keep what you've got and get the upgrade going as soon as possible. Read up, learn ...

Hey NC, I bought a 1" pleco myself a couple of years ago. 'Ralph' is now about 10" long and going strong. Sorry about yours committing suicide. They are another fish that gets sold tiny with no warning about the size they'll reach. Ralph is another reason I had to get a larger tank  Driftwood ...

Don't go crazy- one more in a tank that size is all I'd recommend. But plan ahead, and know that very likely, you will find yourself spending a lot more of your fun money on upgrading your tank. It's quite addictive! There's lots of DIY advice here too- it's a great hobby and you can't beat the folk...

Hi NC and welcome :D Words of caution: many of us here initially bought loaches to clear up a snail problem. As someone who now specifically raises snails to feed my loaches, I can attest to their addictiveness. You're on the verge of loachaholism- be prepared! I'm sure you'll find a lot of great ad...

Thanks, Marius...but Annubias seems to be one of their favorites! My large specimen has become so much shredded stems. It started with holes in the leaves, then entire leaves decimated...now they are busy tearing up what is left of the stalks  I'm not sure about Javafern. Seems like it might b...

is there ANY live plant that clowns won't eat/shred/poke holes in/dig up/destroy, etc???? Mine were fine with live plants, until they have reached their current size- as little bitty babies, they never bothered the plants. Suddenly, it's like they are a gang of 5 inch teenagers with destructive tend...

My old friend, Leo Kottke...he's probably the finest finger picking guitar player that you'll ever see. If you live in the US, you can likely see him live at one time or another, in some small venue and for very little money....we've seen him play at least once every couple of years over the past 25...

RIP, Freddie. I saw Queen in concert three times- absolutely some of the best times of my life

LOL J-Rod. Raising snails is easy- just get a few, put them in a tank with some fish that won't eat them (neon tetras and the like work nicely) and occasionally put a small slice of cucumber, apple, or melon into the tank so that they have a food source other than the leftover flakes you're feeding ...
