Nonn,
thank you so much for this. I always wanted to see the natural habitat.

Single cichlid that would go well with loaches?
Hello *@*, I am looking for a single medium-sized cichlid (~adult angelfish size) that would "fit" in a 300 L tank with 16 loaches without turning the aquarium into a war-zone. Background: Right now I have 3 angelfish in the tank which used to get along with the loches and the high current quite nic...

Re: Hee Hee
Does anyone know why they do this? Do they do this in the wild? Do the fish get abrasions from jamming themselves in like this? What kind of tube is that? Is it bamboo? Yes, it's bamboo. I don't have any problems with it - but I have two little ancistrus catfish who obviously like its taste - witho...

Kubotai horror! (pictures)
Hello *@*. Well, this was akward. I just wanted to feed my fish when I noticed one of my kubotais sticking out of a bamboo tube with the male ancistrus next to it. Background: This particular bamboo stick is usually used as sleeping "chamber" by all of my loaches .. until recently, when my ancistrus...

This tank is way, way, WAY too small for the amount of (aggressive) fish in it. Not enough cover, too. And it's not only the clowns looking beaten up. Quite a sad sight. -Connor PS: I'm actually suprised the clowns can survive with company like this. I guess maybe their excellent swimming skil...

At first I did too, but the image they chose works very well, IMO. I think it's a slightly better illustration of what makes a loach different from other aquarium fish - and that's the marketing point I think they're trying to make. I'm not sure .. to me the new cover looks 'cold' and alien, the ol...

@ all Thanks for the nice comments. @ ded1 It's an anubias barleti , a plant generally recommended for loaches and chichlids. While it's true that loaches leave the full-grown leafes alone, it is NOT true for the fresh soft ones as you can see. On the positive side, they seem to grow faster t...
