Re: Banded Pangio ID

Some more pics of the original Pangios that Emma had in in 2007 can be seen on page 3 of the following old thread:

Those chaps are all from the same batch as the one shown as P. alternans in our species index.

Re: Puntius rhomboocellatus and Puntius pentazona

That is not actually correct! They may come from the same region but their habitats are very different. In many parts of Asia they are commonly known as Peat Swamp Barbs! Our supplier have told us that their fishermen collect these from relatively calm Black-waters.

Re: Puntius rhomboocellatus and Puntius pentazona

Hi Jim, They should mix fine personality-wise, but it's important that the water is soft and acidic for the P. rhombocellatus . Here's a good little read: http://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/databank.aspx?id=217 These chaps can be delicate when first imported, so it would be worth reserving them and monitor...

Re: Getting some skunks

Hi,
Sounds like a good combination. What sort of decor were you planning? They will definitely appreciate lots of large cobbles to hide between. Try and arrange the rocks to create lots of visual barriers so that they can get away from each other when squabbles erupt.

Re: Ideal small loach for 60 litre planted?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't put any loaches in your tank set-up. You have no cover-slides and loaches are notorious jumpers.

Perhaps some more Assassin snails would be the better option.

Re: Serpenticobitis octozona Requirements

Hi Robin, Our S. octozona s seem to really appreciate a good flow in the tank. They are not in a set-up that has an actual river tank manifold, but it does have a powerful external filter with spraybar return, in addition to the tank's built in filter. We've observed that they prefer to spend a lot ...
