Here are a couple of largely overlooked superb movies that I tend to keep watching over and over again on video. Fat City--John Huston Barton Fink--Coen Brothers I suppose the movie that I rewatch the most--hundreds of times--is Carol Reed's The Third Man with Orson Welles. For me it is possibly the...

No, it never is. The cooling effect of ice bottles or ice lumps is tiny. What you need is a fan, any fan, blowing over the surface of the water to create evaporation. That is the most effective DIY cooling possible.

$7 sounds a fair price. Everything is more expensive here. I recommend them for those who want to try moonlights out but don't want to buy an expensive kit on spec, or who don't want to bugger around with soldering irons.

As I suspected my old camera was just not up to taking pics in such extreme conditions. But I can assure you that it gives a soft and luminescent moonlight that penetrates at least 18 in. If anything it might be too bright, but that can be easily cured by interposing a piece of colored glass or plas...

Do you have any pictures? How deep is the tank and how deep does the light penetrate? I have two different moon light setups on my two tanks (one white lights and one blue lights), but I'm always looking for something new 8) The tank is 18 inches deep. The light illuminates the sand clearly. I'll t...

That's it. But the one I bought is branded 'Chacun' which is a name used here for all sorts of cheap Chinese electric products.

Moonlights

This is something that I posted on a reef forum, but it may be of interest here. I found an interesting little gadget in a DIY store today that can be used for moonlighting for those who are not prepared to get the soldering gun out. It is a little flat circular light about 2 in. in diameter with th...

Yep, a fan is the surefire solution for tank cooling unless your ambient air is 100% humidity, which is unlikely in most places.

No one is making a red cent, I assume, out of LOL. Spreading info, provided the source is properly acknowledged, seems unexceptionable to me. Why would I feel my proprietary rigtts were being abused if I had contributed an article or info to the site and someone in Slovenia or wherever reprinted it ...

I agree about the C. panda . I know you mentioned this earlier, but a lot C. panda's are not that healthy because of mass production and they arent as strong. Now, if you can get a group of wild C. pandas, then thats great. They will be healthy and should spawn very easily. C. pandas can also be sh...

I'm surprised that no one else has chipped in for Pandas. Aeneus and Paleatus are widely available and as hard as nails, but a bit dull. Trilineatus are equally available, handsome, but IME tend to become secretive as they get older. Sterbai have the color and pattern, but again are not very lively....

My recommendation would be Pandas. They stay rather small so you can have a really big school, they have very playful and amusing behavior, and they breed readily. Some say they are not so hardy, but I have never found this to be the case. I have 8-10 at the moment in a 33 gal planted community and ...
