I'll compare the products when I can see them. Thanks for the thoughts. How was your stock Graeme?

Re: Plumbed water feeds for larger tanks
I have one of these http://www.aquariumsuperstore.co.uk/Aqua-Medic-Helix-Max-UV-55w.html but no idea if that's strong enough. I think I'll get a carbon canister of some some sort, just don't know which and can't help thinking there's something out there that aquarium specific that I haven't yet found

Re: Plumbed water feeds for larger tanks
There is no filtration before the water enters the tank. I am wondering what the traditional solution here is. I have seen in line dechlorinators before but can't recall the manufacturer. I was thinking of something like this: http://www.pozzani.co.uk/water-treatment-249/water-filters-183/product_in...

Plumbed water feeds for larger tanks
I have a 150 UK gallon tank with a plumbed water feed which I use for water changes. I have noticed that my clown loach fins now have mottled black fins since they've been introduced to the plumbed tank. In my previous tank I always used stresscoat to remove chlorine and their fins didn't have this ...

Looks lovely, love the puddles of light.

Re: New tank - fish now in residence
Thanks all, it's the realisation of something I've been planning for just years now. Now I need a bigger powerhead and a third lamp to make the lighting more even. You can turn the lamps down in intensity so the extra tile wouldn't cause a problem. Now if I can just find the money..

Re: New tank - fish now in residence
SgtMajWiggles, it's from an outfit in Poland and would have been £300 if it had fit right first time. It went back once and was then replaced. To their credit I didn't get charged for the returning postage or the replacement background but it did take some cutting and shutting to get to fit and noth...

Re: New tank - fish now in residence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zwy-VAMur8&t=50s I've now added my rain function to the tank. This is a water change in process straight from the mains. You can see the 'rain' coming in at the top of the tank. You can also see the Aquaray 'storm effect' lighting (lightning) kicking in. See notes in ...

Re: CLOWN LOACH VIOLENCE LAST 2 DAYS HELP
Sorry but I've never had this. Do you have a picture of your tank? Perhaps there aren't enough hiding places to seperate your fish? What did you find out against Martin's suggestion of errant electricity in your water?

Re: New tank planning
I've now got some major loachy dancing going on. They've found a favourite spot between a large rock and the glas on the far right hand side of the tank. They squirm around there in a tiny space, then head up and down repeatedly, playing in the local powerhead flow, squirm a bit more behind the rock...

Re: New tank planning - tank now (almost) complete
I've finally got the tank up and running and the clowns are now in! What's really funny is that they are still swimming "in their old tank". Specifically whilst they have swum the full length of the 6' tank they still seem to prefer to swim in 4' lengths i.e. from the middle of the tank to one end o...
