I use it and treat the water as it goes in and there seems to be no adverse effect. My water is not hard and all I do to it is neutralize the chlorine with sodium thiosulfate. My fifteen clowns are 5- 7 inches.

Emma,
What do you consider the minimum size tank for full grown clowns. I was thinking of a 10 foot 300 US gallon? I too have fifteen 5-7 inch clowns. They are in a five foot 100 gallon tank and I'm starting to plan their new home.

I suppose when the snakeheads get too big you'll be frying them up?

Did i say it is right or wrong? Anyway, there is nothing you can do. if Oliv wants to carry such things out. it is perfectly legal. The word ethics and conservation shouldn't be used as we all know what fish keeping has done to the wild. Fish keeping by itself is deemed unethical by most people. No...

I feed a LOT of different frozen foods that come in these trays, and there are ways to get the food out without touching it. If you cut the foil directly behind the bloodworms you can pop them out without touching them, and the plastic tray does not go into the water. You can aim them at the tank, ...

Quite the involved life he had. Fame, fortune and women didn't help cure his loneliness. Sad.

I put an outer leaf of Romaine lettuce raw and it's gone in half and hour. !/2 of any squash raw, weighted down with a small rock, and it disappears too.
Once or twice a week I give them these veggies.

You can always cut PH & GH with a little RO or distilled water.
I think putting bog wood in also would lower PH.

Re: Clowns on vacation

I ask because if there is a chance you could lose electricity, that would seem more of a concern. I would have someone look in on the house to make sure the water is fine and the electricty is on (filters and heaters working properly). Great point, I have a backup generator. Loosing the electricity...

I would not feed them for three days. No chance of an accident and they will be fine.
