Thanks

That's a relief, I thought the little chap had done himself an injury. The spine has now retracted most of the way back in so panic over. Thanks for your help, I will keep a close eye on him from now on to see if he continues to have have trouble with it.

On closer inspection it looks as though the spine could be broken at the base!! There appears to be another (smaller) spine poking out from the same point. The larger spine seems to be in the correct position and has the membrane that connect the spine to the head still. He is not in any apparent di...

The big guy is between 6 & 10 years old, I don't know for sure because I bought him from a small fish store in cornwall when visiting my mother some time ago, he was already a few years old & about 6" then. He was returned by a customer along with two other females (they must have had a good reason)...

Hi, One of my juvenile clowns has one of its suboccular spines out, it has been this way for a couple of days now!!! Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know what could cause this or whether it will eventually retract? It can just about be seen on the photo below: - http://i463.photobucket...

Unfortunately it is not uncommon for these large chain stores to have sick or dying fish on sale, I must admit to buying there poorly clowns in the vain hope of saving them as I know the staff are either not willing or not able to give them the attention they need (I still have four of them going st...

bslindgren, I only picked him up at the beginning of December and am hoping his colours don't fade too much as he grows. Does anyone know why this happens? I have 19 clowns in total and they are all different shades!! I am assuming it is mostly diet & water conditions. I know my big fella hogs all t...
