Possibly Sick Dojos
OK, here's the deal. I know I shouldn't have gotten these fish, but I've been looking for some nice looking brown dojos for quite some time now... About five years. My LFS has a good reputation for selling healthy fish, so this is a bit of an anomaly...perhaps something wrong with the supplier? Anyw...

Whatever happened to brown dojos?
It seems as if 6 years ago they were everywhere. Now the only dojo loaches I can find are the golden ones. Does anyone know of a place near Columbus Ohio that sells brown dojo loaches?

Sexing Sewellia Lineolata
I've seen the pictures on how to sex these fish, but I can't seem to do so with my own. I'm guessing they are both the same sex so I can't compare them against each other or something. Anyway, we should be buying two more at the end of the week and I want to make sure I at least have one of each sex...

Moving
If you had to move 3 kuhlis, 1 dojo, and 3 yoyos across the country (in a truck), how would you do it? They are all about 3-4 inches. We're moving from Florida to Ohio in a month, and we plan on stopping overnight somewhere in the middle. What is the best housing method that will support them for th...

I posted something similar a while back. It's definitely a schistura, but other than that it's hard to tell.

Pangio Markings and Subspecies
All of my kuhlis have strange markings, none of them have the same stripes.
This one in particular doesn't match any of the website's pangio markings. What subspecies do you think this is?

Our substrate is like white beach powder, and I have never seen our kuhli's dig either...but that is what I wanted. With the combination of the sand and lots of caves in a heavily planted tank, I see them more often than most do. As a matter of fact, I can usually spot all of them within a 3 day per...

Filters and Sand
I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, but since I only have sand because of my loaches, I decided to put it here. I am losing my filters because the motors are wearing out. Either these filters are very crappily made or sand keeps getting stuck in them. Even though there is a lot of protection i...

The loach tank at my local fish store has marimo moss balls, kind of a plant I guess. I can see the loaches picking at it, but there never appears to be any damage.

From my extremely limited experience, I noticed when I kept them in gravel they liked to dig under the substrate more. They didn't seem to do it as much when there was sand at the bottom. I don't think you need a special filter, I have regular filters on my tank now with the sand, but you have to be...

One and only should be coming in on Monday, can't wait! I have 4 Kuhlis and 5 danios set aside at the LFS. I ended up with the danios because they reminded me of peanut butter log candy. Got the moon lights in today, wow they look neat! Do you think my tank is too small to try for a controlled java ...
