Re: Ideal temp for zebra loaches?
That does seem quite warm (maybe a typo or were they treating a disease?) -- my five seem happy, active, and well-colored at 76-77F. They've doubled in size since I got them, now approaching full-grown. What temperature are you currently keeping your tank at?

Re: Banded Pangio ID
I came across another site with pictures that look a lot like my new kuhlis: http://www.seriouslyfish.com/profile.php?genus=Pangio&species=%5Bpl%5Dsp.+'PAN03'%5B%2Fpl%5D&id=1494 All of mine have black upper and lower lip barbels (yellow barbels in between), plus a dark bar at the tail base, with a f...

Re: Banded Pangio ID
Hmmm... looked again through all the pictures of all the banded kuhlis, and no real matches (though still similar to the sole photo of P. alternans ). There are a couple photos on the loach forum that look similar to my new kuhlis, with an ID of 'possibly P. alternans .' Wish I knew the collection l...

Banded Pangio ID
Recently got 7 more kuhlis with some interesting markings, quite different from my bunch of P. kuhli/semicincta that I'll need help ID'ing in some later post! I'm thinking P. alternans , though there are a couple in the group with some pretty wild markings. Any ideas? http://www.appj.com/fish/photos...

Re: Welcome to the New Loach Forum
Welcome Jen. Sounds like you are on the way to having a great loach collection. I was thrilled earlier this week to find 5 Kubotai for $3.50 each. Yea! Thanks, and nice find on the kubs! I managed to win 4 captive-bred Sewellia lineolata at our club auction yesterday for a decent price ($5 each), s...

Re: Welcome to the New Loach Forum
Hello all from Minnesota, USA. I too am quite enamored with loaches. Figured I should actually register on the forum and say hi. Looking forward to getting lots more good advice here! Oh, and my loach count across various tanks: 5x Black kuhlis ( Pangio oblonga ) 6x Banded kuhlis ( Pangio kuhlii ?) ...
