Hi Mike , sound a great collection of loaches ,a good number of years ago I had a similar tank Eos ,Cuadipunctatus , Yellow tailed Modesta's , Leconte's and some S.beauforti and though I didn't have Striata's I had a few Dario , and I agree the Thai fish were too strong for the Dario :( !

Hi Bookpage , Kubotai are a strange loach in that the variety of pattern density doesn't seem to relate to age :?: I'd guess they are caught at different locations and then lumped together at the shipping stations :?:

Is that a Denisoni I see in the background or a Chalakudinensis :?:

Hi Fugupuff , there was a bit of a boom time for Chinese fishes , but that's a long time ago 20yrs ? there are Pulchers and Robusta's available on occasions but not a lot else ?

I think the idea that Modesta's are aggressive is a misconception , if left alone they aren't bad , the problem is that if they are harassed they will defend themselves , the fact that they are powerful possibly makes them a bit unsuited to tanks were they might be tormented :?:
