Hi Mike , sound a great collection of loaches ,a good number of years ago I had a similar tank Eos ,Cuadipunctatus , Yellow tailed Modesta's , Leconte's and some S.beauforti and though I didn't have Striata's I had a few Dario , and I agree the Thai fish were too strong for the Dario !

Hi Bookpage , Kubotai are a strange loach in that the variety of pattern density doesn't seem to relate to age I'd guess they are caught at different locations and then lumped together at the shipping stations

Is that a Denisoni I see in the background or a Chalakudinensis

Hi Fugupuff , there was a bit of a boom time for Chinese fishes , but that's a long time ago 20yrs ? there are Pulchers and Robusta's available on occasions but not a lot else ?

I think the idea that Modesta's are aggressive is a misconception , if left alone they aren't bad , the problem is that if they are harassed they will defend themselves , the fact that they are powerful possibly makes them a bit unsuited to tanks were they might be tormented
