Mark, it's good to see the male we gave you have to stand up for himself! It might teach him some manners when dealing with other fish (-:

Thanks for posting the images Graeme, i was not wanting to go snooping round the net while at work. Now that i'm home and have had a good rummage through google and blagged Susan's Athens access (the benefits of having someone working at a university!) i'm going to suggest that the adult image you p...

oh i would love to find some zebrinus...how big are they now? They are a range of sizes, i would say the smallest is just over 2.5cm and the largest is just shy of the 4cm mark. We have 6 in the tank but you rarely see more than 4 at a time (-: @Odyssey, Sinogastromyzon wui have to be one of the mo...

Hi Kieth, Personally i would go with the first option. This is purely on the basis that you will be able to judge the level of clogging in the sponge by the difference in water height between the inside and the outside of the chamber. The second option however may give a more aesthetic look, no larg...

Pictures from the river tank

I spent a while bothering my loaches this evening. First showing off with the macro lens http://media.share.ovi.com/m1/large/0683/066adbd2f7a1492d9b338315b46e7698.jpg That was from the lovely Gastromyzon viriosus that we got at the last loach meet (-: A slightly less cropped picture of the same fish...

Your images are astounding (-: Yes! name your Camera...... I'll echo that, i suspect a Nikon SLR of some kind given your mention of the R1C1 flash unit in another thread. The R1C1 has been on my wish list ever since i got my macro lens although now that i have a SB-900 the cheaper R1 kit will do the...

Hi LES.. You use a single-lens reflex camera, but I have only a compact camera. A single-lens reflex camera wins the resolution feeling and the contrast as expected. I use a Nikon D80 that i am still trying to get the best out of after several years (-: most of the time when i am taking pictures of...

I infer that Gastromyzon of your yellow fin is G. viriosus. The very rare Gastromyzon fish species. http://www.loaches.com/species-index/gastromyzon-viriosus I certainly believe that it is Gastromyzon viriosus going on the description. You have some lovely looking specimens there Odyssey, great pic...

Its funny, I can't get any audio on those last two videos. :? The others are fine. I stripped the audio from a few of the vids where there was a lot of background noise and other people talking in the area. Les, my 14yo thinks you sound like someone who does the narration for those National Geograp...
