Rio 400 renovation
About a week ago i completely re-did my rio 400. I wasn't happy with the look, green algae completely thrived and the sand got into the wood making it look bad and i noticed it actually started clumping in some places. So i spent over £150 on some new aquarium sand, fake plants, wood, many many pebb...

Do you mean vertical bars here? http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h78/daspricey/IMG_4933-1-1.jpg If so i've got one specimen with 3 and a very bold black bottom line or caudal band. The giant nan loaches, Yasuhikotakia cf. nigrolineata confuse me. Are they a different species? Have they ever been ex...

You cannot go wrong with Yasuhikotakia nigrolineata ! I have 4 around 2" in a 5ft tank. The tank as it stands now is 25*C without the heater on - i'de prefer it lower. It usually sits at around 22-23*C and they are doing well. Before i added a river manifold they were quite shy apart from one in par...

Though it does look alot like mizolepis i would lean toward anguillicaudatus for two reasons. Mizolepis is from Asia and is rarely seen in the trade so how could it have go to Spain? Its just a hunch David , I spoke to a friend of mine after he returned from Taiwan around 3 years ago and he said th...

Power cut.
Oh bu**er! :( Got home earlier on from a day in York to find we'd had a five hour power cut! The rainbows, barbs and danios were heavily gasping at the surface. Henry (A large male geophagus ) was gasping, but not at the surface and the sinibotia were the same. Only the fluval 304 turned back on, th...
