150 gallon tank :D
Hey everyone I'm back :D after a very long and even more drawn out move ( we are talking a full year in limbo :P) I have lost nearly all of my fish and so I am completely free in terms of tank space. I just set up the 150 gallon I have been waiting so long for and since I'm stuck on what to do I jus...

Thats great! Really any relatively active schooling fish can be used as a dither fish i think, although depending on the size of your clowns you may not want smaller ones because they might get eaten. I'm not surprised that your clowns enjoy the surrent, tho; almost all (if not all) loaches come fro...

I'm back! And looking to start keeping loaches again!
Hey everyone! Because of our horrible move-gone-wrong,I haven't been able to get any new fish or set up any new tanks for over a year. Since the move also killed all of my fish except for 3 upside down catfish and a dojo loach (almost unavoidably unfortunately because of the circumstances), I have 4...

Finding Sinibotia
I had a sinibotia longiventralis a while back, and it was one of my absolute favorite fish! It unfortunately died, and I have been unable to find any since. I am looking for any species besides robusta. I live in CT. If anyone is willing to sell theirs or knows where you can get them online or local...

loaches+predatory fish?
Besides loaches, I have had one huge interest in a certain group of aquarium fish- predators. Ive had eels, sunfish, and all sorts of other stuff, and I was curious if there was any way I could use a 150g to combine a few of some of the medium sized botia (almorhae, kubotai, etc.) with one or two smal...

this also will sound cruel but rescuing fish just means that the store wil l understand a demand exists for that fish and order more. I am really sorry to say. This doesn't apply to the huge fish that someone takes back to the LFS. this doesnt exactly apply for rescueing goldfish because 1 was a fe...

Horay for rescues! I ended up using my science fair project as an excuse to save 3 goldfish from life(which would have been around 3 days) in a fishbowl. I actually have a dojo in with them right now. I think that if the snails are big enough they will eat them. My dojo ate 2 big snails once(the kin...

To be honest I have no idea whatsoever. I hadn't added any new fish for over a month and a half, it wasn't overstocked, and the water quality was fine. It may have been from using a net from my new goldfish tank in that tank but i'm not sure...anyway, the 1 survivor, my pleco, didn't show any signs ...

oh, ok. I was asking about the sunfish b/c I have a 4-inch pumpkinseed sunfish in my 55 gallon former loach tank, since all the loaches were wiped out by ich. Since it's currently my only heated coldwater tank kept at 68 degrees, i figured if i found sinibotia I could keep them in there for a bit. If...

Ok, I posted on the forum on Franksaquarium and I'll keep checking back there. I sent an E-mail to House of Fins-I've been there and it really is great, hopefully they can get some. In the meantime, I'm still willing to trade/buy if anyone here wants to, I just have to get more of them. I miss mine ...
