Proper sand

What type of sand do you use on the bottom. All I can find around here is the white marine type of sand. I'm using that in the one loach tank and the kuhlis seem to enjoy it but don't borrow in it. They'll pass it thru their gills all the time and try digging down but rarely accomplish anything more...

Two of the Yo Yo loaches apparently are different from the third one. The two stick together like glue and the other is an odd man out. The coloration is also different on the two - note how much lighter their markings are. They do get darker when excited but basically stay a lighter color. The larg...

Snails seem to be happy and breeding quite nicely in my kuhli tank... too nicely in fact.

I can get my teeth in this subject. I ordered three kuhlis online from one place that had a fairly good rep. When they arrived, the water stunk and one was dead. The other died within 24 hours. I decided to try online on AquaBid. The first 6 were returned to the sender. I then received another batch...

I do the same with all frozen food. I use tank water to thaw out the small cube - about 30 minutes - and then feed. I do feed daphnia at times because it's left over by the baby fish I might have growing at the time. I'm also going to try white mosquito larve which I just came across in the store.

Active bunch

I've noticed that the clowns seem to spook very easily. The Yo Yo's and black kuhlis not so much. The clowns seem to freak at any movement they see outside the tank. The others could care less. I've also noticed that come 10pm the clowns have gone to bed. They are in for the night. So weird

Active bunch

8) Didn't realize my little guys would be so active. This is what you see just about anytime you approach the tank. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b136/nashnut/busybusy.jpg Here is the bridge I turned upside down for them. They seem to love it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b136/nashnut/busyb...

Small loach

 I'm thinking of setting up a small tank (10) and am wondering what would be suitable. I already have kuhlis, and Yo Yo's so I would like something else that would remain on the small side and not outgrow a 10 or 15 gallon tank.

Kuhli Loaches

 When I first got both my regular kuhlis and the black kuhlis - split into two different tanks - they were extremely active going up and down the corners of the tanks. Now, they ignore the corners and spend all their time working around the tank itself. Drapped in the plants, going in and out ...

:? Yes, I've been keeping all the loach tanks at about 77 or 78 degrees. I have regular kuhlis with blacks in one tank and black kuhlis with YoYo's in another tank but those will be moved.

Golden DoJo loaches

:?: I currently have 8 black kuhlis and am wondering if adding two golden dojo loaches might cause problems? Got a treat today and managed to get to two LFS. I picked up a small clown in one as he was the only one left. I checked in the other store for one of the same size... bummer... they had some...
