Hi Tomas, Fist of all, YoYos get Ich as easy as clowns, ok? So, if they have to get it, they will. The important thing to do before purchasing the fishes is wait and observe. Ask the attendant when the fish came to LFS. Also ask him what are they eating (if so). Don´t buy the fishes that time. Come ...

I, myself, translated this article to portuguese and it´s now posted in two brazilian fish forum under authorization of the author. Problem still remains. Not a single shot of Clown loaches in the wild on that article. The author shows traps only, but no fish... :(

Zebra loaches are not agressive, but as other loaches, they like to be in groups not fewer than 5 individuals.

I don´t like the kind of companions you want to mix because of size diference (Dojos can get really big compared to zebra) and water temperature needed.

Good luck!

There is a syndrom called Skinny that affects most captured fishes worldwide. Not really a disease but those fishes may stop eating (or eat but keeps thin). On those cases, Levamisol hidrocloride can be usefull.

Best wishes for other two.

I have some news. I decided to have Clown loaches ONLY in my tank. So, I had a little trouble unpacking everything to capture the non Clown fishes: http://i817.photobucket.com/albums/zz94/Mataratzis2/Captura01.jpg http://i817.photobucket.com/albums/zz94/Mataratzis2/Captura02.jpg http://i817.photobuc...

Hi Tanja,

I feel that this tank will be small in a couple years. I decided not to add or replace fishes. My goal now is to have only Clown loaches.

Unless you are bigger than a cow, right?

Some Clown loaches can get bigger than 30cm. I´m not sure those snails can be as big as that...

Best companions for a Grrr loach is another one. I do have a big modesta among 30 Clown loaches and other fishes. Fortunatelly, mine is calmer than most.
I would advise you to keep it with other modesta, skunk or tiger loaches (helodes, himenophysa, etc).
