Re: Bought A New Discus Today

If you already holds a large group, they begin to eat faster.
White worms (Enchyträen) are a very good food in the settling-in period.

Re: 2 kinds of Sinogastromyzon, S. puliensis,S. wui

You have very nice fish there!
I like the way you feed them.
Sometimes you can find S. puliensis as bycatch in Europe.
It is surprising because this species is still on the red list as vulnerable!

Re: New Sewellia sp.???

Update; My new Sewellia sp. doing very well, they are absolutely not shy and always in front of the tank like the lineolatas. They are extreme good surfers, the head shape is slightly more pointed so I think they come from faster flowing habitats. They are not as territorial as other Sewellia types ...

Sorry you lost them.

I would treat the whole tank in no case!
Usually have only a few fish.
Intestinal flagellate drags you sometimes in with frozen food, so only buy high-quality!
Observe good and good luck!

White mucous feces is a sure sign of intestinal parasites.
I hope you have success with the treatment!
As guarantees apply my knowledge: Maracyn, CostapurF and Esha2000, but this mediums does not help against intestinal flagellate.
Everything else carries a degree of danger!

Good luck!

That looks not good.
He could also have intestinal flagellates.
Even if he eats enough, he becomes progressively thinner.
If he is older, a treatment has not much sense
It is very difficult to cure infected fish.

Hi Iris, It really looks after injury. Patchy Disease comes faster you notice it after four or five days. So I do not think he´s sick. When he eats and is not always hidden, he's probably healthy. Observe good and change the water often! But where do these injuries? Do you have any aggressive fish i...

Very interesting fish!
The head shape of the slimmer one looks like a Protomyzon for me?
But who knows?

At first I thought the same, but they are only 1-1,5cm smaller.
And the head shape from Type1 is slightly more pointed.
Maybe the head shape gets rounder with age?
