Thanks Charles and Mick. I appreciate the link. That's what my fry look like now. So, are the fry born with the stripes? I read on another forum that the fry 'develop' the stripes as they mature. Just wondering... Mick, those fry sure are tiny---much tinier than the C. aeneus fry that are also in th...

C. pygmaeus fry question (updated for ID help)

Hello everyone! About a month ago I set up a ten gallon with a sponge filter and moved my 6 C. pygmaeus into it. I was hoping (again!) to get them to spawn. I never noticed any spawning activity. Then I noticed that my albino cories were gravid, so I moved them into the tank also for a few days. The...

I was thinking about the price that you paid for your kuhlis. I probably purchased 3x as many kuhlis as I own now, only to have most of them die during the quarantine period.

I think you got a good deal. :)

Striped kuhlis are about $2.50 a piece here in Central PA. I've been told here at Loaches that the 'inch per gallon rule' doesn't apply to kuhlis. I keep around 25 of them in my 3ft 30 gallon. I'm probably pushing the limits, but the tank is heavily planted with only shrimp and a few pygmy cories as...

Oh, I'm sorry that you lost the babies! Well, hopefully the kuhlis will spawn again for you. I have a good feeling that they will. :)

Capeldrae has been trying to breed striped kuhlis for some time now. I'm so excited for you!! Please tell more about it.

I'm trying very hard to breed my oblongas. To breed the striped pangios would be fabulous!

Congrats! And when do we get to see the pics? :)

Donna, I have to tell you that after reading your past posts about your angels, I just had to have some. I sold my kubotai loaches and made my 75 gallon a haven for three angel fish. I'm find them to be the most out-going fish I've ever owned. They always come right up to the glass to see me---they ...

Very nice tank!!! I like the look of lots of plants. Is that a moss ball in the front? I've thought of getting one, but haven't yet.

My oblonga are the ones that I see most often, though. I only have 3 Oblonga at the moment. I have to keep moving the ornaments in my tank around at least once a month or I NEVER see them. They just like to hunker down inside the main cave. More pangios in the tank might help you see them more. Als...

Beautiful tank and healthy looking kuhlis!

I have at least three species of pangio together, and they all get along great. My oblonga are the ones that I see most often, though.

Very nice!! Your tanks are lovely.

I have that same willow leaf hygro in my tanks, and your pics inspired me to give mine a good trim. Actually, mine looked like a tangled mess, so I pulled it up, trimmed it and replanted. It looks better now.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Sorry you are having this problem. It's sad when you lose fish, especially when you don't know why. I recently lost about nine of my kuhli loaches, and they also curled up and seemed unable to straighten themselves. They didn't float, though. I attributed my loss to toxic metal poisoning, althou...
