I really think they may have been yoyos, but they were more greyish/yellow in color than mine, which is almost pure white and black. I think they may have been Botia Rostrata http://www.loaches.com/species-index/botia-rostrata They are not the same loach. http://www.vergari.com/acqua/foto/pesci/bot...

I have seen similar loaches at Petsmart, but they weren't called "YOYO" and the looked slightly different than mine so I passed them up. I didn't want to make the mistake of adding the wrong type of loach. Teri They were probably Angelius (sp?) loaches aka Juvenille Polkadot loaches or B.Kubotai. I...

I am really frustrated by the lack of treatments and cure options out there. I also do not really know of any fish vets out there who can diagnose diseases and dispense treatments for those aliments. It is impossble to find soluable levamisole anywhere and hardly any stores sell treatments for inter...

Quarantine procedure for new fish.
Hello everyone, I am in the process of finding a new place to live at the moment. Once I do move, I will be getting decent sized tank(s) for my Botine loaches. FYI, the loach species I have are B.almorhae, B.Striata, B. Kubotai, and Y. Sidthimunki and I will probably be getting a 55 and a 33 xl or a...

The fish is definitely Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki . As sids mature the chain pattern tends to develop all over the body. This fish was bought as a small specimen approximately two years ago. Whilst, I see a passing resemblance to B. kubotai I would expect it be confused with Y. nigrolineata first :)...

I thought that Polkadot loaches are Kubs and Dwarf chains are sids You would be right there. However who mentioned Polkadot Loaches? All I see in the pics are Y.sidthimunki and B.striata. I see B.Striata and B.Kubotai. I've never seen a sid that was that close in size to a Striata or was tan and br...

They are more prone to dying when skinny and these fish that I have seen weren't just skinny, they were so emaciated that there stomachs arched upward toward their spines. All of them were just as skinny as the kubs pictured in this link. http://www.loaches.com/articles/images/chronic-wasting-syndrome
