Getting new loaches today!
I recently won an auction on Aquabid for a Box-O-Loaches and they will arrive today. 5 Gastromyzon ctenocephalus, 3 Gastos (species unknown), 6 Pangio semicincta, and a surprise group of loaches to fill out the box. I can't wait to get home today and open up the box of goodies! I will probably be lo...

My LFS just got a couple dozen Pangio myersi so check yours, they might be available again. I will probably pick some up soon.

Re: Sick loach?
Do you know what species of botia? There are several striped ones, some do get orange or red in the fins (usually males) when they mature. Loaches often take a longer time to mature than other fish so just being older doesn't necessarily mean it has reached adulthood yet. As for the possibility of i...

Re: Help finding more Pangio myersi?
I am not sure I would trust an angelfish with those small Pangios. I have angelfish less than a year old that would definitely try to eat them but mine are already breeding (I have lots of tanks and feed them lots to grow quickly). I would love to get P. cuneovirgata, I have never seen them for sale...

Re: Help finding more Pangio myersi?
They have been scarce lately, I saw them in shops around here a few months ago and they had been somewhat frequent last fall. I have two that I got last winter but have only seen them one time since (they had just come in and I wasn't going straight home so passed and they were gone when I went back...

Re: My biggest Pangio myersi just keeps getting bigger
She just looks like a gravid loach to me. I wouldn't worry as long as she is acting normal.

Looking for Pangio shelfordi
I picked up a Pangio shelfordi at my LFS a few months ago and it has done well. I noticed the other day that it is definitely a female and full of eggs. Does anyone in the southern Wisconsin, northern Illinois area have any they would be willing to sell or trade? I know its a long shot but have to g...

Re: Weather Loach "Albino"
I have not kept weather loaches so may not be the best to answer but I will give it a shot. First, more info might help- What kind of gourami and how big is it? How large are your water changes? If they are less than 50% I would recommend doing a larger water change (50%) evry 2 to three days. What ...

Re: Not sure which Hillstream loach I have & need care info
This is going to be the best place and forum for hill streams. The forum is not as active as it once was so it takes longer to get replies. I have kept hill streams in the past just not for a while and not Sewellia in particular. I know there are more experienced hill stream keepers on this forum. T...

Re: Not sure which Hillstream loach I have & need care info
Also not an expert on Hillstreams but I have kept them and can give you a few tips. First read Martin's article on hillstreams on the main site- absolutely fantastic information that will help immensely. While most hillstreams live in tropical locales they are found at higher elevations where the te...

Re: Latest addition and not sure what it is.
Still trying to get some better pics however I have only seen these guys once the daylight goes off and just the lunar blue lights are on. It is proving to be quite frustrating. Be patient, they are shy fish and often take a while to settle in. Try feeding a few minutes before lights out, slowly fe...

Re: Pangio breeding tank design- opinions wanted
As I am starting to get tanks in the fish room I am having to make some adjustments but the original plan isn't too far off. When complete I will try to update. As far as tank residents there will be a lot. I am breeding angelfish so a lot of tanks will be designated for that, 8 or 9 pairs plus lots...
