Based on my use of it I don't think levamisole did anything to kill off snails... but I found this regarding it's effect on brown garden snails: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=2905966&dopt=Abstract It seems to have a secondary effect on the H nurones o...

Yes, mine do. Yesterday I saw a little clown swimming around with one stuck to his mouth. He sucked it dry and dropped the empty shell and went on to look for more. They even dig them out of the sand to get them. They don't bother the very small ones, or the very large ones. It's the mid-size ones t...

You know, I can't keep these guys going in my tanks. The loaches decimate them, totally. I've even seen them running around with mts stuck to their mouths as they suck them out, too. Time to set up a little 10g for snails, I guess. 8) Gary, if you were nearby I'd definitely take you up on your offer...

One possible cause of an ick outbreak in coldwater fishes (like hillstreams) is found here: http://www.lsc.usgs.gov/fhb/workshops/27/15.htm "Our three cool water facilities, which respectively rear muskellunge, tiger muskellunge, and walleye, are generally unaffected by the parasite. Seasonal water ...

Anyone interested in biology?
Here's a link to ongoing studies of ich and the development of immunity ... kinda academic, but very interesting to see the connections between the parasite and development of immunity in fish.

SLR camera suggestions, please--JD/Mark?
Looking into getting a better camera for fish pics (and other things) and saw some Cannon and Nikon cameras around $1000 that are interesting. What things should I specifically look for (a list of most to least important would be helpful...)
And what do you like most/least in yours?
