Re: Fantail Goldfish in 45 gal Bow Front

Hi Diana! The fantails seem to be doing pretty good. There is one, primarily, that is sitting on the bottom. He is upright - not on his side. I think it was a good move to 're-home" the pleco. I'll keep an eye out on him, since there is a larger angel in that tank. I would hate to have something hap...

Fantail Goldfish in 45 gal Bow Front

I have been doing a little shifting around in the aquariums I take care of (5-45 gal bow fronts) at the vets home. I put 2 comets in with 2 other comets and used that tank to "upgrade" to 4 fantails and 2 black moors. I did this gradually, plus it was an established tank. I wasn't able to return for...

Re: Moving a Small Clown Loach

thanks for the reply, Diana! Sadly, the smaller, thin loach has gone to heaven. It breaks my heart, but it's been tough to go to the vets home. It'll be easier now, as I am moving more "normally", if that is possible!! Anyway, I will try a couple more loaches when I find some that are a tad bi...

Re: Moving a Small Clown Loach

Thank you for your input! I appreciate it! Regarding the angels, the three were the same size. I think just the lack of care while I was gone was the issue, sad to say. I may just have to leave this one by itself, because of his size. I haven't seen any, where I live, that would match him. He's not ...

Moving a Small Clown Loach

I haven't been to the veterans' home to take care of the aquariums like I had been, because of a broken ankle (5 mos. ago) - just sporadic visits because it was tough to be on my feet. I am mended now, and will be able to get back into the swing of things. What I am wondering about is the clown loac...

Handling of Koi for a Pond!!!

AM I OFF MY ROCKER?????? A good friend has moved into a new house that has a beautiful yard and pond! She has no experience with ponds (the Pond Doctor in her city got it cleaned and running), but when she told me that the people at the pet store told her to just dump the fish in the water, I ...

Blood Parrot Fish and Compatible Tank Mates

I have 2 Blue Paradise Gouramis in a 45 gal. tank. Would the parrot fish live OK with them, or would the paradise fish be took aggressive for them? I would like larger fish in this aquarium for the members of the vets home, since eye sight is somewhat of an issue. I am not sure who can actually be c...

Re: Will a larger Pleco kill/eat smaller fish??

I understand your concern about the big box stores!! Sadly, there are 2 stores here, Walmart and Earl May. So it is "bad and badder"!! Believe me, I know, as I used to have a pet/fish store  and they probably hate helping me because I can't keep my mouth shut!! It would be 2 hrs. to go ...

Re: Will a larger Pleco kill/eat smaller fish??

i think PART OF (MAYBE ALL) of the problem was with the way the person at Walmart was releasing new fish into the tanks!!!!!! You really do NOT want to hear what she was doing!!! I went to management and I truly hope that practice isn't continuing!!!!!!! I don't know if those little fish were new fi...

Will a larger Pleco kill/eat smaller fish??

I put 3 small red serpae tetras in a tank with larger serpae, a couple of fruit tetras (fairly large), some neons, a glowlight tetra and 2 clown loaches. There is also a pleco that is 5-6" long (I think!). The new red serpae tetras went missing 2 days after introducing them in the 45 gal. tank. Seve...

Sami125, I would go to a glass shop and get advice from those people. A special drill bit would be needed.
