pics of wild caught A zonaternans

Post by mickthefish » Sat Feb 09, 2008 6:33 am

hi all
ive just been looking through my photos and found these 3 pics of piggy4's fish that i took pics of.
if the guys would like to add them to the species index your welcome to as i think they would be a good addition there, as it shows the bright lemon hue that future generations have nearly lost now.

Beautiful, Mick. 8) Some of the wild caughts I have at the shop are really in colour right now. There are a couple of males with an almost orange-red glow about the fins.

I got lucky with an offchance shot of the A. zonalternans when photographing other fish this evening!

The photograph doesn't really do it justice, but as you can see, the one on the right has orangey-red caudal and dorsal fins plus a 'rummy-ness' about the face - there are 2 or 3 in the tank like this:

beautiful Emma.
it just show the variations on this fish, it's got to be the location they were caught, as they are a wide spread species.
