Clown Loach Pale Colour

Post by wavoes » Thu Feb 14, 2008 4:45 pm

Hey everyone...i am new to loaches and now have 3 juvenille clown loaches in a community tank. 2 of the 3 have beautiful colour, but the 3rd is pale and has been since i brought it home from the LFS. I thought at first it was just due to the stress from the transit and introduction to the new tank. It seems healthy, swims like the rest and is eating.

I have seen the ick on other clown loaches and there are none present...also it does not appear to be rubbing it self against anything...

Any idea...or am i just over reacting?

Sounds like normal stress or dominance behaviour. Probably natural/normal. So long as it's eating and active i'd not worry too much, but keep one eye on it. Might want to send photos to the group as well, just in case it's different then i picture.
What other fish are in the tank?

Thanks for the reply...i have just about cycled a 90 gallon tank that i will be moving the clown loaches into. but for now they are in a 30 gallon with 12 tiger barbs and 1 small gold nugget pleco...the smallest clown loach actually thinks its a tiger barb.
