As you all might or might not remember, I have the two batches of Seweilla in the 10 gal Q tank...I had hoped that they might get frisky as the batch in Ohio...I had been doing pretty aggressive water changes and every one seems ok for the last month or so...There's very good filtration/oxygenation and a fair current from the uv/filter internal + a sponge filter and another filter on the back.
I was a little disappointed since most of the time the hillstreams were between the glass and the rubber suction cups except when the flakes went into the tank and then they were very active.
I was going through a box and forgot that I won a zoo med powersweep rotating powerhead wavemaker for up to a 20 gal. It rotates back and forth as well as having an airtube that mixes air into the stream.
Well, its been about 3 hours since I put the powerhead in and I aimed it so that on the edge of the left arc of the rotation it hits the front of the tank.
Its been like night and day so far. Its been like activity central. I've seen alot of fights(on not over the rocks) and some of what looks like pre-mating behavior. I'm crossing my fingers, but it's been interesting so far. I'll keep everyone updated.
