I was very surprised when I found P. oblonga at PetSmart for $1.59. I couldn't see any in the tank, and asked the sales clerk if she could look under the plants and decorations. She said there weren't any left, but she did take a look, and there were three in the tank under the gravel. She was very patient and found them.
While she was looking for them, I saw two more in the next tank. She fished those out too. Now I have 5 in quarantine. I pointed out to the clerk that they were not all P. oblonga. 3 were P. oblonga and the other 2 were either P. doriae or P. anguillaris. I think Thomas is right that they are P. doriae. All three are found in the same countries according to the species profile. These mystery fish make P. oblonga look huge. Like a flower stalk compared to a tree trunk. They are the same length, but the mystery fish are at least a 1/3 of the width if not thinner.
What ever they are they all like to dance in the morning together.
