Loach ID request.

Yesterday I finally bought my first Loaches, eight B. kubotai. Or at least that's what I thought. It appeared to be seven kubs and an unknown Loach....



Doing a pictorial search I ended up with Acanthocobitis botia. What do you think? Could that be?

yes, I would say it's a Acanthocobitis. About the exact species I can't say anything. But with the genus you are right.

Thanks Thomas. I'm happy I keep my tank at a relatively low 25 degrees, that seems to be a good temperature for such a Loach. Hope I can give him the care he needs.

Erik, could you take a lateral shot of your fish mate, it would give a better clue to what sp your fish is.
