Current corridor in community tank
To keep our Beaufortia Leveretti/Kweichowensis as happy as possible in
our community tank i created sort of a "current corridor"
Alongside the internal filterbox i placed a big piece of rock 10-12 inch high some 2-3 inches from the filter, and in between i placed a heavy duty air flow rock.
This creates a bubble torrent in which 3 of em really love to hang out and joust for the best space in the stream.
The other one really digs the front window of the tank along which a modest current flows. Sadly the only camera we have isn,t really working at the moment, but i will post some pics in the future.
All of em are quite active and seem to enjoy themselves among the other fish.
The only fish that sometimes bugs them is a male Ramirezi and they,re way too fast for him.

4 Pseudogastromyzon Cheni are now added to the tank and
i want to add a powerhead to create more current for the hillstreams.
What can you guys advice on setting it up in a juwel vision 180 with internal filter ?
And furthermore which would be the best powerhead to use ?

Power heads are really a personal choice.. you will get a lot of different opinions on what is best.
I have one zoo med rotating one in one of my hilly tanks I like it just for the rotation feature.. I have a small rio in that tank also. I don't like the rio at all.
I have a marineland one in the Cheni's tank it is ok.
Where are you located?

well....it isn,t a hillstreamtank,
it,s a community tank with a current part (Juwel Vision 180)
(wishes for photocamera)
on the back i put a large piece of stone upright next to the internal filter
keeping 2" space where i put the airstone, this creates the "bubble torrent".
On the frontside of the inter i used the small 200 lph pump
which creates a current over the flat rounded rocks going almost halfway through the tank.
Most of the other fish are okay with this kind of current
those fish are:
15 Neon,s (will move to a friend in the near future)
9 Yasuhikotakia Sidthimunki's
2 Blue Gourami's
2 Synodontis Lucipinnis/Petricola dwarf
1 L 191 Broken line Royal Pleco (Panaque sp.)
4 Beaufortia Kweichowensis/Leveretti
4 Pseudogastromyzon Cheni
And i have Sewellia Lineolata's and Gastromyzon's on order (probably 4 of each)
I saw that the Zoo Med is available here but i had my doubts due to it's rotation, i do agree though that in a pure hillstream tank those would be quite ideal. I,ll keep those in mind for when we move to a bigger house
and i can start with a pure 1 species hillstream tank......(maybe even more tanks )
