Zebra Loach Behaviour

Post by nsean » Thu May 14, 2009 11:15 pm

Hello;

I am just wondering if Zebra loaches are similar in personality to Clown loaches.

Thank You

Fairly similar, they only get to about 5" I believe. Same types of behavior, diet, water conditions. They are compatible together in the same tank, I have 7 Clowns and 4 Zebras in a 75 and they do fine together.

There are some much more qualified experts on this forum who can give you much more specific answers.

There are also good descriptions on the "Species Index" section.

Yeah I am mostly refering to the playful behaviour of clown loaches. It is the size of the zebra loach that I like.

If you are wanting smaller community type fish with a personality similar to Clowns then I would say striata or histrionica, both lovely looking fish and both peaceful species. Both species will live quite happily with each other as well.

I also like Zebras as a smaller community fish. Friendly, playful...

I think they will eat baby Endlers, though.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

Well, not my two zebras. And " two " is a cause for them to be a bit unfriendly toward each other often. Need to buy them a company I guess
