I haven't been around for a while ,went with other hobbies for a while but kept my freshwater tanks going with minimum care until recently.
I have gotten rid of one my tanks (a 90 gal.) and now have a 100 gal.tank with 7 clowns, two polka dot ,4 Yoyo ,3 Zebra loaches.
My question Today is:Can I keep loaches in a well planted tank?( planted with mainly Java ferns ,Anubias ,and a few stem plants ,a few rocks).
The reason I ask about planted tank is ,I have read that loaches prefer subdued lighting which does not exactly help when I'm trying to grow these plants with 7 hours of light, fertilizers, co2 etc.
I must add that there are lots of hiding places for these loaches ,the water is clean with a lot of flow with the help of 4 canister filters, and 4 water pumps.
My plan is to have loaches only tank with 10 or so more loaches to be added later on but if a subdued lighting is a must then may be I shouldn't torture these poor creatures with 7 hours of intense lighting.
Another question I have is

I would appreciate your help and opinions sincerely.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Ken.
