Pangio Oblonga Babies

Post by capeldrae » Thu Jan 20, 2011 2:12 pm

For the fifth season running my oblongas have produced babies, a bumper crop this season.
My tank is 48"x12"x12"=25 gallons
1x 50 watt heater= 78 degrees
Fluval 103 and Elite 50 filters
I have a gravel bottom with some bogwood and stones for them to hide. I also add oak leaves.
I saw the first babies back in November and every 4/5 days have seen new borns, they are about 5mm at this age. The ones born back in November are about 25mm.This is a small video of babies that I think are quite new born. I will try and get a video of a mixture of sizes.

Hi there, that's great news. I really must try my hand at breeding some kind of species pretty soon, I may just practice with some shrimp first :)

On a side note I see your in Scotland, I'm currently sat in spoons Glasgow on the iPad. Up here working for a week, bit chilly at the minute eh?!
Hope u can get a video posted.

Take care.
