strange behavior for clown loaches

The large females are around 10-12 years old. I tried taking pics, but most of the clowns went into hiding as soon as I set-up the tripod. Fortunately, I have 1 clown loach that is not camera shy, which would be "Amazing Grace". These are the best pictures I could get of her. Unfortunately, my web camera isn't sharp enough to get the clarity needed to show the outline of the eggs. I can almost make them out though.

She is beautiful chefkeith. Clown loaches are awesome! Can't wait until you have eggs all over your tank. What size, how long, are your clown loaches? Mine are just 7 in, 5 1/2 in, and 4 in.

I was told they like spawning mops to lay their eggs. Not sure if that is true or not. But your tank is beautiful. She sure is pretty lumpy. I can almost see the outline as you say. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Im not sure the spawning mops is true considering they have technically never been bred in tanks. The only cases left no fry and the hormones are a different story.

Thanks. I have about 40 clowns, ranging from 3 to 8". They are kept in a multi-tank aquarium system that has an 85g, 125g, and 195g tanks, which holds about 400 gallons total. The tanks have a continuous drip water change system.

Thanks. I'm not trying to breed them. So it's a caviar feast when it does happen. I think this has happened a few times already, but I didn't see any actual eggs, just a less full belly on the female and a bunch of happy loaches eagerly following her around.
