Hi everyone,
I am about one month into my new aquatic hobby and I'm loving it. I'm also finding myself learning a lot the hard way.
I have a Java loach with plans to get more since there is a single one now. In the last 2 days, it's been way more active than I am used to seeing in the day. It's out, swimming circles, looking for food. Normally it hides in my TARDIS ornament but has been hanging out in my aponogeton boivinianus plant and Moss balls. I'm just making sure this is common behavior for it.
I would like to get a few more. The 10 gal tank is nearly cycled with ammonia usually at .25, nitrites 0, and nitrates between 5 and 10.
Thanks,
Chi

Re: Loach behavior
An active fish, especially loaches. Is usually the sign of a happy fish. Keep an eye on ammonia and other parameters. If he is eating well and swimming around, without knowing anything else about your tank, should be a sign things are OK.
