Other fish....

Post by JonGuerriero » Sun Jan 29, 2006 4:38 pm

Hello all. I'm a little curious to hear what other fish besides loaches everyone keeps and do you keep these fish with your loaches or in other tank(s)? Also, does keeping other (non-loach) species with loaches change your feeding regiment? Does anybody here keep marine tank(s)?

Personally, besides dither fish, I have a couple of albino corys in the clown, kuhli, histrionica tank and a rainbow shark in with the skunk loaches. All my tanks have loaches though :D

tropical tank:
four (possibly five) yoyos
seven (I think) pangios
2 dwarf gourami
7 harlequin rasboras

food: live (daphnia, bloodworm), frozen (daphnia, bloodworm, artemia, mixture, sinking pelelts, algae wafers, veggies. The harlequins don't like the veggies or the algae wafers and the yoyos prefer the algae and the bloodworms.

coldwater:
2 goldfish
eleven white clouds
two weather loach (can't get any more round here for some reason)
one very fat CAE. so far very placid, too; but there's a LOT of alge in the tank

food: as above. Bunch of pigs, this lot. Except the CAE, who only eats real algae.

When the goldfish get huge and move to a pond, that tank has possibilities...
And one day I'd love a brackish tank. Gobies. Mudskippers.
sophie.
