My husband would like to know what the largest loach in the world is. Does anyone know?

The Clown Loach would win that one on length plus bulk. We're not truly sure how long they get in the wild, but they all put on breadth and height as they mature so I'm betting weight-wize they're the tops too.

Marge here was 11.5 inches when Emma Turner took this picture. I'm posting it full-size because it's going to come up somewhere near her real size.

A loach that possibly gets longer than Chromobotia mactracanthus is Triplophysa siluroides which is known to reach 16". However, this Chinese species doesn't have the heavy build of a Clown.

Did you win a bet? :D
