Collecting loaches?

Post by Mike_Noren » Tue Aug 07, 2007 8:27 pm

I've decided to try to collect some of the locally occurring Spiny Loach (Cobitis taenia), and am wondering if anyone has any tips on how to do this?

Electrofishing and beach seine is out of the question (illegal).

You could try a bottle trap. Click here for a simple one.
Fast and bulbous!

If you can manage to have contact with anyone who owns the fishing rights for the specific water, you can get permission to use a seine, it´s so much easier. Try the Lovö waterplant for a start.
