you also have to look at most of the stores (petsmart especially) have issues with the large/varying fish populations they're getting. they do not sell as many fish as other places and they have a strong 14 day guarantee on them which is harder to find at most other stores. yeah it is gouging, but they haven't had kubotais very long... as for the gold-nuggets... there are dozens of plecos named gold-nugget, the one i'm getting is a mini and they're HARD to find... since most people assume that a gold-nugget is a gold-nugget, this is not the case... some "gold-nuggets" can get close to a foot long! beware!!
