Wendi, I don't think your female is just chubby...mine was smaller than yours.

After she died, I did an unofficial 'autopsy' and found this was in her gut:

I use tablets and usually put in 2 algae and 1 regular for the three loaches, three plecos and the smaller BN and black loaches. They don't last very long.

Yeah Wendie has the Classic gravid female. Very nice! I just hope yours don't end up like Shari's.

They won't, I'm sure. She probably knows better than to use Pimafix on loaches.

Mine only prefer the 1 tablet and the BN's go for both.

Wendie, I love that picture of the girl sleeping on her back!

It was funny enough that I showed my husband and he had a good laugh, too. Great entertainment.

At seven months pregnant right now, I think I might know how she feels. :?

Both females tend to sleep in weird positions. The one sleeping upside down is the one who forces the male pleco out of his cave so she can wedge herself into it. Mind you we're dealing with a cave that's 2 inches x 2 inches.
She lays on her side in there and all you can see is her tail. When she's ready, she backs out.

The male is smarter. He goes into the big corner cave and sleeps on one of the built in shelves. He was interacting with one female last week but nothing came of it. His pattern is sharp and clear and I don't think he's mature enough to mate but old enough to cause the egg build up. They are all around 2.

Slightly off-topic, but you may want to look at pictures of possibly gravid Sid posted on another forum.

Is this for real at this size?

Hard to tell at that size. I would say it's the dominant loach out of the two he keeps. The dominant ones are always the stocky well fed ones.
