If you are asking me and not Clown Loach Fan, no I'm not. I've been told that my 75 gallon tank is not big enough for clown loaches and I was guilt-wracked over that for two years. I actually started with a 20-gallon and someone told me I needed a 75 gallon for them. The only reason I have this 75 gallon tank is because I bought it so they would have enough room, only to find out it was too small, anyway.

I would just like to find some cute, small, personality filled loaches. They are so much fun to watch.

But, Clown Loach Fan might be interested

I can highly recommend b. kubotai. I really like mine, and they stay small.

How many could I get for my 75-gallon tank with maybe 10 small danios (the Glo Light Zebras) and 10 Neons, a few cherry shrimp and maybe a couple of kuhli loaches?

A 75 should fit 6-10 kuhli loaches. A couple is not going to make them bold enough to show up.

Actually I would have 20-30 neons and 15 danios.

figure that out before you get more loaches.

Striatas are also a good choice nobody has mentioned. I have them in a 75 with sids & 2 kinds of rasboras, red tailed & harlequin.

Newshound - I'm pretty sure that the initial outbreak was caused by not quarantining new fish. I've had my tank for three years and never had any problems, whatsoever. I had never really added any fish before, and totally forgot to quarantine. There were no ich spots for a couple of weeks, but within the first two days, all of the new guppies were dead. Can't figure out if my clown loaches got mad or scared and killed them, or if they had disease. Anyway, within two weeks the tank was infested. The clowns survived, the tank cleared up and two weeks after that while I was away, it broke out again. The clowns didn't survive it, and all but three or four of my fish died. The last spot disappeared from my fish yesterday. I've tested my water with the API test kit, which I do every week when I change and vacuum the water. I ran the numbers by people on "the other" website and everything with okay. They think it all started with either stress to the clowns from adding the new fish or the new fish were diseased. Not sure how long to keep treating the tank now.

I have the regular aquarium gravel that you can buy in pet stores at outrageous prices in one tank. My largest clown is quite entertaining as he/she picks up pieces and moves them to the side in search of food. I am planning to switch to sand, though. I have a 55 gal tank with Target pool filter sand. It seems to be nice - looks great. Right now I only have 8 black neons in there because it si cycling, but I am expecting a shipment of laoches from Vancouver this weekend. I am excited!

I've never ordered fish via mail.....how does that work. What if you are not home when they arrive, or the weather is cold?

Emma convinced me sand was easy to look after, and she was right. the filters do a good job of sucking away most of the debris, as it doesnt sink into the gaos you get between gravel stones.

i stupidly set up my q-tank with gravel, and its so hard to get the pH to go down, even using ro water. thats another reason why i am so pleased Emma convinced me to change.
