It does that to me when I'm trying to vote too soon.... at least I think that is why it does that.

For me it has been the case that I have to wait at least exactly 24 hours before I can vote again. Thus, each day I have to vote a little bit later than the day before. Because of this I have missed one day after it slowly got too late in the day. But I have started over voting early in the morning.

Perhaps it goes by a firm US time (point) rather than period? ... somehow I get lucky ... I could do a morning and an evening click recently ...I shouldn´t even tell ...

Wolfram- For me it has consistently been a 24 hour period. For example it I vote one day at 5:00 am then it will not let me vote again until just after 5:00 am the next day. The same has happened for me for midmorning times, afternoon times, and evening times. Your experience suggests that there is a bug in the programming that does not handle German time zones correctly.

It is also interesting that every time we get within 325 of the third place pleco, it jumps to about 355 ahead. But we are both gaining on the Betta in second place.

There is a real simple way around this vote. You can download a proxy server called vidalia bundle pack or tor. This changes your ip address at the click of a button. So all you do is delete all your cookies and temporary internet files. Then turn tor and privoxy on. This will change your ip address and then you can vote again. Then when you are done. Delete all temp int files and do it again. Tor has a button that allows you to start with a new identity. This changes your ip address. Then you just vote again.
1) download firefox
2) add this add on in firefox, its called tor button(you turn this on to change your ip address)
3) download vidalia bundle pack or go to tthe tor website. you can google search this.
4) follow instructions on tor website of how to setup the proxy server. its very easy.

The vote works off ip address. Not cookies. So you can just change your ip. I think just in case you should delete all temp internet files as well each time. With firefox. its a push of a button.

I wouldn't suggest doing this but it could be the reason some of the other pics are getting so many votes!

Of course there is a way around it, and I and others have suspected that is what is happening on some of the photos that have very high totals that happened very quickly.

But please do not use these methods. It will cheapen the result since it would be fake. Let's win fair and square!!!

1199. Please make sure someone posts everyday. :) I missed my voting for 12.08.07, because I didn't get an email update. Everytime I get a post, it reminds me to vote. :)

Don't know why, but I just voted and went from 1202, 1206, 1208. So I got a double vote. Weird.

Or someone else voted at the same time so it just looked like a double vote (to both of you).

I am not doing that but the results are already cheapened. You know what fish I'm talking about.

I suspected that was something like that.

But we will win without cheating!
