Ebo Jager heaters.
Hello, i have had two of these for 4 years now. I just read that they are not fully submersible. WHAT? If they arent, mine have been going strong for way too long. So far i only got a 1 degree fluctuation in all of that time. I highly recomend them
Clowns-6 is a group and more is never too many, providing the aquarium is large enough.

Haha, thats good. What should they call those whisper ones. My dad used to keep them in his tanks. He had to replace them every six months. He only did this because he could keep on returning them to walmart for another one(free). Then i introduced him to ebojagers, has been running in his tank for 3 years.

Where do Tronic and Penn Plax fit in that line up? I have several that are holding up well, and very accurate.
Top Fin and Whisper = Bicycle, and not a racing bike or anything fancy, either!
Perhaps our Canadian friends will verify this, I read it a few years ago: A heater that is submersable can be labeled as submersable in the USA, but not in Canada. (I do not know why) In the interest of writing only one label the company makes only those claims that are allowable in the most locations. I heard this specifically in conjunction with the E-J heaters. They are submersable.

38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.
Happy fish keeping!

Tronics are good too.......kind of a Toyota I used them in England, plus Visitherms.
My comparisons are to an extent jokey, but based on personal experience with some makes and from memories of comments made on fish forums over the years.
I did a search on makes and I wasn't actually aware of that Via-Aqua heater which has a remote thermostat. It looks like a tough cookie so I figured it was a Jeep
Certainly here in Canada I've noted that heater-stats have these water-line markings. I've seen it on some powerheads too but run them under the surface for years without problems.
You can smoke pot, marry your same sex partner, but you mustn't submerge your aquarium heater in Canada.......it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.
Martin.

I have had quite a few heaters including visiterm. The Ebo-Jaeger I have now have outlasted all the others by quite a few years and it is usually fully submersed. Agree with the general consesus. Cool Analogy Martini
120 gallon planted aquaponic tank with 10 clown loachs, first one since 1994, 1 modesta and 3 striadas.
re ebo's
As understand it all ebo's are fully submersable BUT had to put the water line on them to get CSA approval.
Cheers

We have been hearing rave reviews of the new Smart Heaters by Rena:
http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/ ... 9_270.html As well as being unbreakable and supposedly very accurate, they can be plumbed into the external filter tubing with a special connection kit.
