A gaggle O Sids

Post by Batch » Tue Nov 06, 2007 7:59 pm

Hey,
I got 9 more Sids a couple of months ago from Frank's aquarium,
bringing me up to 12 in the Jungle tank. Pretty fun to watch. A few pics of them in action:

Smart move on getting more sids, they really enjoy the company of their own kind. 8)

Clowns-6 is a group and more is never too many, providing the aquarium is large enough.

Wonderful - nice plants. What are the white spots on the rock?
Why does my aquarium always seem too small?

Excellent, the bigger the shoal the more fun they are :)

Those white dots look like nerite snail eggs

Do you have nerite snails in there ?

Great Fish.
You might move your rocks and clean under them .It is pretty clean where your gravel cleaner can reach but you have some build-up under the rocks in your gravel. This is the problem with gravels. It lets things accumulate, just a polite observation. Your small fish create huge amounts of small waste.
Rummy nose are one of my favorite little fish. I have many with my neons also. :)

Yeah, there's ~10 or so. I guess that's what they are. They seem to prefer to lay them on the Khuli caves. :? I'm kind of surprised that no-one wants
to eat them. Geuss everyone is too small?

I think most of that is black sand. A while back I had this idea of putting sand under the rocks for the Khulis... some of it is still where I put it...

Ahhh, but when mixed with laterite it is an excellent substrate for plants.
There are MTS in the gravel, hopefully they and the plants will take care of most of the rotting organic matter. The swordplant's roots are fairly extensive (and its getting too big for the tank :x).
just a polite observation.
constructive criticism/observation is a good thing. That's why I go to these type of forums. that and to look at the purdy pictures 8)

I dont think anything can eat them, try scraping them off and you will realise how hard they are. I haven't seen a single fish that is able to eat them.

Hmmm. I tried keeping a few with my yo-yos and 3-spot gourami. They
eventually killed them, but there were a few of the eggs in the tank. I didn't
clean them off, but they went away.....
