I know that Nonn Panitvong was out fishing for them during the Tsunami.
Forget wether he actually caught any or not. Whatever....he was blissfully unaware of the Tsunami until he got back home into Bangkok.

Martin.

No personal experience Andy but Nonn has some beautiful habitat pictures on his web-page. Here's one of Nonn's pictures showing a Serpenticobitis zonata. And the link to his web-site.

Yes, we caught one. That is after 3 trips, we sighted 3 and caught only one. Total diving hours of more than 70 hours. They spent most of their time hiding under rocks in the rapid. In captivity, you rarely see them, even in bare bottom tank with 2 sponge filters it managed to disappear for a month, I though it was dead and eaten by its tank mates, before I discovered that it still alive. Very interesting fish, as it is, but make very poor aquarium fish. And it is rare in nature, some how.

How we searched for it.

The fish S. zonata, most likely females.

Thanks everyone , one things for sure these fish are ultra rare, very interesting fish though , i wonder why these are so secretive ? at first glance they appear similar to Shistura sp , very attractive .
