What kind of loach do I have (picture)?
Hi,
This loach I found in the shop trapped in a filter. It took some time to free him (??) but it was worth it I'm sorry for the bad quality of the picture. The water is very dark and the loach is very active. I will ask my gf if she can take better pictures soon!
I have 2 other loaches who look like the one above but they seem darker. I will post some pictures of them soon!
But does anyone knows which loach I have?
Thnx!

yes, but Pangio pangia remains smaller than P. oblonga. The loach in the picture looks (for my eyes) too big for P. pangia. How big is it?
P. pangia 2,5 inch, P. oblonga 3,15 inch (from fishbase.org)
Maybe I'm wrong but this could be a really P. pangia (it is 1,2 inch)
but I'm not sure, eventually only a young oblonga. It's not easy to determine the species of this loaches. They are very similar.

That's usefull information, thank you! Then it's definitely a P. Oblonga. Some time ago I bought P. Pangia at the shop (well, they were labeled P. Pangia) but then they mist be P. Oblonga too. Btw the fish on teh picture is at the moment about 8 cm/3,1 inch long.
The only loaches who's colour is cinnamon/black are P. Pangio and P. Oblonga, right?
/Edit: I was wrong. I just measured one of the loaches and it was 6 cm/2,36 inch. Since all 3 of them are similiar in length, they could be P. Pangia after all. So frustrating that they're so hard to identify!
