Just thought I would post a few pics of my various Loaches. I do apologise for the lack of quality. I would love to post pics of the bigger Loaches but they are just too camera shy to get a photo without it looking like your bogstandard UFO blurred pic.

That is a great tank Doc ,I like the way it opens up on the right.
Is the Y. modesta in a different tank ?The substrate was gravel hence the question.

No the Y.Modesta is in a different tank to the others. The Y.modesta is part of a group of 6 I picked up on Tuesday and is currently in quarantine. They will be going into a tank with a sand substrate at the weekend which will be just theirs.
The Main Loach tank is at my partners and is her pride and joy. She told me how she wanted it to look so I aquascaped it that way. The Histrionica love the rockwork whilst the Macracanthus seem to switch between the wood and the Rockwork. The lighting is temporary at the moment as none of my local stockists have the tube I need to replace the moonlight blue one and I still need to build a decent hood to fit the lighting into.
Filtratrion and flow is provided by Rena XP externals and two Aquaclear 3000 powerheads. All the rock and bogwood has been used in other setups for years.

I really enjoy the Y. modesta,they are too plain looking for most though. . I have about 20 or so,they really enjoy prawns.I keep mine with Syncrossus Beaufortii and it works excellent for me
You did a great job on the aquascaping,just spectacular.
My Clowns are not hiders at all,and like yours not particular of the decor. They are front and center if I come in ,otherwise laying about anywhere they decide at the time, usually with one eye on the entrance to the fish area of my house in a spot right next to the current. Always watching for the food slave it seems.
Yours are so funny.All wedged in like they want to go first.My little ones in don't do that but the B. almorhae they live with do
I also run the Rena's as supplemental filtration ,great filters in my opinion.I like the way they release from the hoses and the high quality clamps on the lids.

These are the first Modesta I have ever kept and the differences in their behaviour compared to Botia species although slight is still noticeable. They are still quite wary but are growing bolder everyday and I notice they are more active at dawn and twilight than any other time.

At some point I will get round to finishing the River pool tank at my partners. I still need to put a backing on , the hood needs to be made and the doors need to be put on the cabinet underneath....

Emma , the mixed loach tank is 5ft x 2ft x 2ft. Not really what I had in mind size wise , I wanted a tank at least 6ft long and 2.5ft wide but plans went awry somehow and we ended up settling for this for now. I have already made up plans to replace it later this year with an 8ft tank with sump and transfer the Modesta from their 75gal to this one and add a manifold.
