Tank updates with pics & vids

I have borrowed a cam corder which is a nice toy and here are some vids of the two tanks. One is the "river" and the second is the "sid-tank". Also some pictures, not good quality since its with the cam corder but easier with zoom to get closer without scaring. Hope you enjoy.

Small Sewellias are everywhere, they grow so slow it takes forever to get them big enough to sell. Would like to add more Gastros but with over 30 small ones there is simply no room.

^The little plant in the middle had to be removed, didn't thrive and Sid's kept digging it up.

Great stuff, Janne. Your Y. sidthimunki tank is immaculate and the fish all look in superb condition.
I agree that the Sewellia lineolata young are very slow growers. I mentioned in another fairly recent thread that I was a little concerned that all the S. lineolata available in the trade seem to be large adults - and they are fairly easy to come by over here now. I just hope they don't overfish and harvest all the breeding adults from the wild. I really love that photograph of all the baby Sewellia piling on top of that Gastro too.

Thanks Emma and Jim. Theres one Sid that isn't like the others. One pectoral fin is missing and the head is a little "crooked". The V-shape isn't straight. But the others don't mind the difference it seems. It eats, is mobile and acts normal, so if it doesn't bother the fish it doesn't bother me. Also one of the P. furcatus has a extra stripe on its tail, so odd-balls are welcome in this tank.

Same thing here with Sewellias, only big specimens in shops. But that will change when these babies hit the streets, in about 3-6months

This river has had its flow downsized. I had two Hydor pumps with 3500l/h each but they made some terrible noice so they had to go. Firtst removed one and later the other one, terrible sound. Now its only eheim 2226, eheim ecco 2236 and eheim aquaball 2212. Quiet.

There is some flow at the outlets but nothing compared to what it used to be. I'll be getting a eheim pump later, but this will have to do for now. At least they have the wall to fight against But that is only a nighttime activity, for fish, the shrimp climb it 24/7.
