tank size

Post by newshound » Wed May 31, 2006 3:10 pm

Hello all
I bought a collection of loaches off a guy and must get them soon.
So that means I have to set up a new tank
It will be over filtered
what is the min. tank size for this group?
3 skunk 3"
2 modesta 4.5"
2 robusta 3.5"
2 sun (eos) 3.5"
or should I put the robusta in another loach tank I have?
and should I put my dario's in with this group too?
thanks all
damn this loach thing doesn't end
drain your pool!

Why are you surprised they are 3 inches? Thats not even fully grown.

I'd think the robusta and the darios might appreciate each others company, so I'd personally put both species together, be it in your other tank or the new one, I don't know the situation in your other one, or the size of the new one. But I'm just guessing that they'd enjoy each other. Haven't done it myself. :)

How big do they grow and over what period of time?

I have four skunks and they've grown from 1" to maybe 2" in a year. The Clowns and YoYos I've had in that time have grown MUCH quicker and larger then the skunks. I've just thought that the skunks were smaller fish. The skunks I've had for a year or more are smaller than the Clowns I'm buying. ( Yes, still buying!! I can't seem to resist )
