Anybody ever had experience with these loaches? Aggression size??

latin name: Schistura chapaensis

I've had Schistura cf. chapaensis in, and they are real brutes - big chunky 4.5" Schistura that don't tolerate each other well. Very attractively marked fish though.

Thanks Emma. How are they in relation to their tank-mates? Do they take frozen worms, flakes, etc?

They pretty much take any foods offered and seem ok with other non-nemacheilid fish. It's their own kind that they are fiercely territorial with.

Don't worry about it, by the time i get another lift down they will have probably gone anyway!

I don't know - they have been in for some time and tend to hide away so don't get spotted that easily.

Mike, have you seen the S. chapaensis at an lfs? I was wondering how they compared to the S. cf chapaensis I got. They may well differ in how they behave, but if they are the large, heavy bodied type like these, my money would be on similar territorial behaviour.

I think they only encounter one in a few thousand Caudipunctata ?
